too much iPhone coverage

don't waste your time reading digg today unless you simply wish to be consumed with MORE iPhone coverage.
granted, i love digg and it aids significantly in getting me through the 8 hour work day but enough is enough. the digg community is getting farther and farther away from working as a progressive news source. instead it is becoming more and more stagnant everyday. digg'ers love to talk about the same shit over and over again (linux distributions..especially ubuntu, nintendo wii, ron paul, apple, iPhone, etc). a digg movement needs to begin to promote the distribution of a wider variety of more diverse information. enough of this same old shit.

Nmap spotting in the new Bruce Willis movie Live Free or Die Hard

it appears as though the most commonly used port scanner in the security community, Nmap by Fyodor, has just been spotted in the new bruce willis flick, Live Free or Die Hard. this isn't the tool's first cinematic appearance. it's debut appearance can be spotted in the 2003 movie, the matrix reloaded. Fyodor must get super laid.

new super-duper intelligent exploit packs…well not that smart

looks like the white hat research community was dead on months ago in regards to new, more effective exploit packs. ryan narine’s zero day blog looks at these new intelligent exploit packs behind drive-by malware downloads and discusses their methodology. basically all these “intelligent” packs do is utilize a JavaScript function on a malicious site as a means to carry out browser detection. this enables the exploit pack to determine and carry out attack methods most likely to succeed based on a given scenario.

narine’s advice to avoid these drive-bys is to “make sure your Windows machine is fully updated with patches”. my advice to you, ignore narine, avoid anything to do with the evil MS empire and get the newest version of ubuntu.

iPhone? what's an iPhone

the much anticipated technological wonder, the iPhone, will be released today June 29th at 6pm in apple stores throughout the country. it certainly appears as though the six month hype of steve jobs new wonder gadget was just. why you ask? simple, the thing is f***’ing amazing. granted the Edge network is slow but the availability of Wi-Fi networks certainly makes up for it.

gizmodo is live on the streets of San Fran streaming interviews with the iPhone craving apple loons who have been camping out for days hoping to get their paws on the device. but buyer beware, stevey jobs is only permitting consumers to purchase a maximum quantity of two phones. take that you eBay scoundrels planning to make a killing off the innocent iLosers that couldn’t pick up the first distribution in stores.

privacy isn't really that important anyway....

the white house has FINALLY been subpoenaed for wiretapping!! hurrayyy. now the only question i have is, what took the congressional democrats so long to make this happen?? the only remotely logical answer i can come up with is that they must have feared bush would send the spooks out to whack them "Soprano" style. (btw, tony is dead end of story)

granted the new york times is incredibly liberal and gunning for the GOP whenever possible but i still can't help but feel a great deal of satisfaction knowing something is finally being done. yes, you can all get mad and say "it's done to stop terrorism and protect this country blah blah blah", well let me be the first to say shut up, you're wrong ::pause:: "shut up, you're wrong".

look, the whole concept behind terrorist acts carried out by fundamentalist islamic radicals is to simply use fear as a means to challenge western society ideals, primarily the idea of freedom. last time i checked the right to privacy was a national freedom bestowed to all citizens of this great country. subjecting US citizens and gov't officials to unwarranted wiretaps is simply imposing upon this freedom as a result of the fear terrorism has installed upon us. government taking away such civil liberties of US citizens is exactly what these terrorists want. kudos to congressional democrats for finally taking action.

ps - again, just for the record...tony soprano is dead. thank you.

why u all up in my grill and/or face

hello all. i know how you've all scoured the internet in desperate hopes of finding a geek blog that is, how should we say...not overly "geeky". well...hate to burst your bubble, but this ain't that sorta thing.

welcome to robot brother, where geek culture is the only culture worth acknowledging. to be completely honest...i have no idea where exactly i plan to go with this blog in regards to content, so we'll just wait and see what happens. chances are i'll get bored with it and stop in like two days. we shall see.
